5 Reasons to Visit Lake Fork & Providence RV Park
There are so many reasons to visit Lake Fork – here are the top 5 in my opinion:
- Big Bass fishing. Lake Fork is a top national bass fishing lake and an angler’s dream. It’s the premier trophy bass fishing lake in Texas. It annually produces hundreds of double-digit-size bass each year. Lake Fork was literally designed for big bass; it’s deep, terrain varied, and timber in abundance left in it. It’s well-maintained by the Sabine River Authority and Lake Fork Sportsman’s Association.
- Hunting. The woods of the Lake Fork area contain many species of wildlife. Being on the central migration flyway, the area is a mecca for duck hunting and all manner of waterfowl. The area also has an abundance of whitetail deer of which we have seen many in and around Providence RV Park. Many deer are harvested during bow and gun season.
- Easy drive from DFW metroplex, Tyler, and Longview for a weekend getaway. Park your RV at Providence RV Park and have it ready to receive you for your weekend away. A visit to Lake Fork for a long weekend is a great way to unwind.
- Slower pace. On a regular drive from DFW to Providence RV Park, I can feel the tension leaving, the peace settling, and my foot easing off the gas pedal as I acclimate to the slower pace of East Texas. Although sometimes I must fight the urge to speed up in my hurry to relax. Is that an oxymoron phrase?

A Little Hunting Deer
“Just a little deer hunting, dear.” How many of you have heard those words? Hunting is expected to be good in the Lake Fork area and the state of Texas this year. The season runs through Jan. 7, 2018, in North Texas; Jan. 21, 2018 in South Texas. My son-in-love has brought one home already. My friend’s 16-year old daughter landed hers with a bow and arrow – impressed me. I was concerned for my sensitive 6-year-old grandson after looking at a freshly shot deer, but then he piped, “You’ll just have to get used to it, grandma.” So much for that. Mostly I’m just glad that neither of them were Bambi.

Hometown Christmas
Enjoy A HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS in Quitman, TX. What could be more home town than gathering at the town square, eating Christmas goodies, mingling with neighbors, eating Christmas goodies, stopping by the Live Nativity, and eating Christmas goodies. Let this be the start of a joy-filled holiday season.
It’s this Saturday from 6-9 P.M. with the parade at 6 starting at the High School and ending at the Court House. Also be sure and see Santa, the Cookie Decorating, Wreath Contest, Food (oh yeah, I mentioned that), Crafts, and the Movie on the Square. Providence RV Park in the Lake Fork area is a perfect place to begin to enjoy small hometown living. But whether you join us or not, the Adams family, James and Carol, our 6 kids, spouses, and 10 grandkids wish you a wonderful Christmas filled with your favorite things.
