Each treed RV spot displays it’s beauty year round.
What makes community?
Webster defines it as 1. a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common or 2. a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.
At Providence RV Park, we’ve got it in spades, or if you prefer, in hearts.
Our spacious RV spots are geared toward long-term residents. Know your neighbors, but have plenty of space to keep them friendly. Walk under the trees, listen to the birds and sit on the patio with a cup of tea…uh, no that’s summer; actually last week it was crunch through the snow hoping none falls from the trees, hurry inside and hope there’s hot chocolate on the stove. No matter what time of year, community is thriving at Providence RV Park.
Oh, and stop by on the weekend for a game of spades, hearts, or even dominoes; or just stop in to borrow from our book collection.

I love words in any form. Books, play on words, word art, and particularly encouraging sayings. Here’s some recent ones I found in Lake Fork News.
Families are like fudge…mostly sweet, with a few nuts. However, today’s mighty oak is just yesterday’s nut that held its ground.
Laughing is good exercise. It’s like jogging on the inside. 😉
And the one listed on Providence RV Park’s flyer: Residents will greet each day as a gift, show care for others, and take responsibility for themselves. That’ll take care of most things in life.
Have a great day from Providence RV Park in Quitman, Texas.

I was thinking about it, so I thought about it, and thought I might have something to say! I was asked the question, “Why would you want to live in an R V anyway?”
Well after hemming and hawing and looking around, I thought, “I think several reasons can be found.”
Today, they’re very comfortable and well built, pretty sound, and when you’ve lost something inside of them, it can usually be found.
When I lived in a house, there was always something to fix or make patches. Well, not anymore, everything is already done, put together, and it all matches.
Then there’s the yard, it’s already finished, nothing to mow. And it gives me more time to think, “Now, where do I want to go?”
And when I DO go, I don’t worry for sure, cause my R V and my “stuff” are safe and secure.
My neighbors are great, not nosy, don’t spy. It’s just when someone is there who’s not you or I, they want to know why!
Yeah, Providence is a quiet and peaceful R V Park of great neighbors and friends. And having said that, this is where this blog post ends.

Thinking about moving to an RV? You will soon experience the joy of downsizing!
I’ve found it truly is a joy, and so have many of our residents here at our RV park in Lake Fork.
When I started downsizing, it was just from 2400 sq ft to 1200 sq ft. That was relatively easy as we didn’t need two living areas and 4 bedrooms anymore. We found we were actually quite comfortable, and may I say, I loved cleaning less space, but I had put so much in storage as “you just never know.” Then we downsized again, quite a bit more as you probably have. I must say, I enjoyed giving away so much to my own kids, then friends, and then to charity. It’s definitely true, if you want to be blessed, bless others; if only for the joy you’ll receive. And that storage? We realized we could have re-bought anything we needed with how much money we spent paying for storage for stuff we obviously never did need.
One of my favorite downsizing ideas: that whole bookcase shelf of photo albums and boxes of photos that I’d keep til my dying days…I chose my favorites and put them in a moving picture frame. Hundreds of them. It’s a cherished possession, takes up precious little space, and the best part – I actually see those photos I couldn’t part with. The memories that flash across that screen are better than a movie.
Now, I’ve found that the joy of downsizing can be a way to connect with others, and maybe even make new friends.
Do you have an amazingly brilliant downsizing idea? Let all those thinking about moving to an RV know your brilliant idea.
